LuckyGrid Docs

1. Install & activate

Lite (from WordPress.org)

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Search for LuckyGrid, click Install Now, then Activate.

Pro (zip from your purchase email)

  1. Download the Pro zip from your purchase email (the “Thanks for upgrading” message).
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Already running Lite? Just install Pro — Lite is deactivated automatically and all your events, prizes and logs are kept.
Safari users: disable “Open safe files after downloading” before downloading, or macOS will unzip the file automatically — WordPress needs the zip, not the folder.

2. Activate your license (Pro)

  1. After activation, LuckyGrid asks for your license key — it's in the purchase email.
  2. Paste the key and click Activate License.
  3. Manage it anytime under LuckyGrid → Account: deactivate to move the license to another site, sync it, or upgrade your plan.
LuckyGrid license activation screen
The license screen appears right after activating the Pro plugin.
Moving to a new site? Deactivate the license on the old site first (LuckyGrid → Account → Deactivate License), then activate on the new one. Lost the key? It's in your purchase email, or write to help@wow-jones.com.

3. Your first draw in 15 minutes

① Create prizes → ② Create the event → ③ Prize pool & odds → ④ Board layout → ⑤ Embed the shortcode

① Create prizes

  1. Go to LuckyGrid → Prizes → Add New.
  2. Give each prize a title (e.g. “Coffee Voucher”) and, optionally, an image from the Media Library.
  3. Also create one “losing” outcome, e.g. Try Again — you'll mark it as no-prize in the next step.
Prizes list
Prizes are reusable across events.

② Create the event

  1. Go to LuckyGrid → Events → Add New.
  2. Code is the ID you'll use in the shortcode (e.g. SUMMER25). Name is for you.
  3. Set Spins per visitor (e.g. 1 = each visitor gets one try; 0 = unlimited).
  4. Keep Status = draft while you configure; switch to active when ready. Optional start/end times run the campaign for you.
Event settings
The setup checklist at the top tracks what's left to configure.

③ Prize pool & odds

  1. Open the event's Board tab.
  2. Add prizes to the pool, each with a stock (how many can be won) and a weight.
  3. Chance = weight ÷ total weight — the live % preview does the math for you. Example: weights 10 / 30 / 60 → 10%, 30%, 60%.
  4. Tick No-prize on the losing row: it gets unlimited stock and its weight sets the losing odds.
Prize pool with live odds
Stock hits zero → the prize can no longer be won; odds re-balance automatically.

④ Board layout

  1. Below the pool, assign a prize to every outer-ring cell — each pool prize should appear on at least one cell.
  2. The preview shows exactly what players will see.

⑤ Embed the shortcode

  1. Put [luckygrid code="SUMMER25"] (your event code) in any page or post.
  2. Set the event to active — done. 🎉
Fair by design: the winner is decided on your server — weighted random inside a database transaction — before the animation even starts. The browser only plays the show. Spin limits and IP rate limiting are always on.

4. The redemption desk Pro

With Collect winner info enabled on the event, winners fill in their name/phone/email and instantly receive a short redemption code.

At the counter

  1. Go to LuckyGrid → Winners.
  2. Type the code (or a name / phone / email) into the search box.
  3. Check the prize, hand it over, click Redeem. Done — the code can't be used twice.
  4. Clicked the wrong row? Undo restores the code.
Winners page with search and redeem
Search finds partial matches — the last 4 characters of a code are enough.

Need the full list? Export CSV downloads every winner with contact info and status — opens cleanly in Excel.

5. Appearance

Each event has an Appearance tab: background gradient or image, cell colors, chase-light color, the won-prize center display, and sound on/off. Everything has a live preview.

Change a color, watch the preview board update instantly.

6. Demo mode

Running a public demo or staging site? LuckyGrid → Dashboard → Demo mode wipes all spins and winners and restores prize stock once a day (events, prizes and boards are kept). Reset now does it on demand.

7. Troubleshooting & FAQ

The board shows “No route was found” or never loads a result

Your site is probably using Plain permalinks. Go to Settings → Permalinks and choose “Post name” (any option except Plain). LuckyGrid 0.3.1+ also works with Plain permalinks — update if you're on an older version.

Players say they can't spin

Check three things: the event is active, the current time is inside the start/end window, and the visitor hasn't used up their spin limit. The exact reason is shown on the board (“not started”, “ended”, “no spins left”).

Can I reset a campaign and start fresh?

Yes — Demo mode's Reset now clears spins/winners and restores stock while keeping your setup.

Does uninstalling delete my data?

No. Campaigns and winner records are kept unless you explicitly opt in by adding define( 'LGRID_REMOVE_DATA_ON_UNINSTALL', true ); to wp-config.php before deleting the plugin.

Is LuckyGrid compatible with my theme / page builder?

Yes — the board is embedded via shortcode with zero frontend dependencies, so it doesn't fight your theme, Elementor, or the block editor.
